The Movement of Environmentalists of Macedonia – DEM is a non-governmental, non-profit and apolitical association. It is a national association that includes 23 local environmental NGOs as regular members.
DEM was founded in 1990 as a necessity to coordinate the work of existing local groups. DEM is a member of Friends of Planet Earth (FoEI), CEEWEB, YEE, and CPM. Also, DEM has good cooperation and communication with neighboring NGOs.
The purpose of DEM is to raise public awareness regarding environmental protection, sustainable development and nature protection.
